    What area do you see the most opportunity for the ecosystem to grow and/or improve in 2024? This could be in a specific use case, product type, or other more philosophical or ideological way - totally open to your interpretation.

    Not in order:

    1. Talent Onboarding: how do we get Solana to become the chain-of-choice for high-caliber founders? Right now, most of the academic inflows come to Ethereum or other ecosystems, and Solana just doesn’t have the mindshare we need among top tier founders-to-be. This is particularly true in emerging markets.
    2. Product Thinking: We now have the on/off ramps, the wallets, the mobile experiences, etc for products to actually break through. I want to see more teams devoting resources to marketing, to UX testing, etc than to engineering (please dont’ kill me if you’re a dev). I’d love to see Dean’s List get 10x bigger and help 10x more projects refine their products.
    3. Thought Leadership. Related to point #1. We’re actively working on this at Superteam, so stay tuned, but broadly how do we get high quality thinkers to spend more time thinkign and publishing about Solana. This includes both technical gibberish and non-technical gibberish. For example, I’d love to see a steady output of quality writing about DeFi that is uniquely enabled by Solana, or by consumer apps that take advantage of Solana’s speed, etc.

    What are the latest technical innovations in the Solana ecosystem that you’re most excited about? Firedancer, Token2022, Private Solana Programs, something else entirely?

    Excited about all of these actually!

    But I still think priority fee markets is underappreciated. It’s incredible to see massive mints or days of heavy traction for e.g. DeFi, Pyth airdrops, etc not increasing gas fees or slowing down the network.

    Every chain should have Fee Markets to save their users. Solana already does, and it’s awesome.

    Token2022 I’ll be more excited about once they rename it (I like SuperToken but obviously I’m biased)

    Obviously, I’m biased, but here’s what I’d say:

    Solana does 50x more transactions per second (~400 vs. 8) and will continue to scale as hardware continues to improve. This means that, in practice, Solana is more usable today. The cost per transaction is about the same though, so no real benefits in terms of cost.

    Solana is also more decentralized, if that matters to you, with more validators (roughly 10x, if memory serves, but I could be wrong here) and more client diversity (important to prevent hacks, supply chain attacks, outages, etc).

    And Solana is more fun! There are just more projects in the ecosystem, more DeFi things to use, more consumer apps, more wallets, etc.
