I created a token 2 days ago and have spent over 20 hours in that time attempting to associate to it a name, symbol and picture. I have searches far and wide and can’t find any functioning advice online. You would think that naming your token would be the simplest part but it has proved to be a nearly impossible task. If there is any documentation on this at all, it is VERY well hidden because I haven’t been able to find a singe up-to-date piece of info yet. I tried using the Vercel Token Creation app to “Update my Metadata” but I get a “Blockhash Not Found” error every time. I’ve asked about this on dofferent subreddits and discords, I’ve googled the issue, and it seems I’m the only person to ever receive this error message. How is it that a problem so simple is so impossible to solve?

Did you try the Solana Tech discord to ask your questions?
This is your question? https://solana.stackexchange.com/questions/8185/how-to-update-token-name-in-solana-token-2022-program
It’s nonsensical, it’s all over the place, you’re making people who are supposed to help you to figure out what you mean.
If you want help, detail what steps you took, ideally provide links to the token itself, what you want to achieve, what you tried. Add details.
i tried enable metadata and update and when i use spl-token display in extensions
What is this even?

No.
What is this even?
Couldn’t possibly tell you because it’s not my question.
ITT: non-devs complaining that dev is hard
Will there be an airdrop? 😮💨😅
Yeah! I’ll let you know when I figure out the details.
Bro. Was just about to rant about this. Unless you’re one of the dev of these apps/dapps/tap tap whatever wanna call them. You’re basically an idiot. I’ve spent weeks just trying to figure out how to create a liquidity pool that doesn’t exist anywhere, how to create a pool on Solend, trying to understand what the French toast physically happens when “impermanent” loss happens, etc etc.
And when you get on the different discords. They either don’t give you a straight answer or tell you it could be a lot of things. For being “decentralized” all the power seems ti be centralized to a handful of apps and the people that run them. And they don’t seem inclined to share.
Like in your Situation. There’s no place to just go and insert token name, upload picture, add funds, and click “go” and boom your live.
Wait, you had to spend multiples of seven days learning about topics? Are you sure there isn’t a 15 second Tiktok video for providing liquidity pairs and impermanent loss on decentralized finance?
Lol. GTFO.
Not smart enough to make a token = centralised
His arguments were the last straw, that’s it, I’m selling!!11
Quicknode has a nice article about creating a SPL token. The link is below. Follow the steps under the “Build a mint tool” section to add a metadata to your token.
The full code is also available on GitHub at https://github.com/quiknode-labs/qn-guide-examples/blob/main/solana/fungible-SPL-token/mint.ts
Have you tried fluxbeam.xyz? They have some tools for updating token metadata.
