Hi community!

My father-in-law sent it twice to the wrong address (he missed one letter at the end of his wallet address). Is there a way to recover his crypto? Please help :( Should we contact Solana? What should we do?

Much appreciate any help.

    So sorry for your loss.

As crypto users i’m sure the majority went through this dilemma, some lost pennies and some might have lost their life saving because of this.

Golden rules hen making a transaction using blockchain (Solana or any other blockchain):

    - ALWAYS copy / paste the receiving address, never write it letter by letter or number by number because you’ll end up making a mistake no matter how careful you were…

    - ALWAYS send a small TESTING amount first to check the blockchain status working fine or not and if the receiving address is correct.

Once you’re done all that, you may send the whole amount later on.

Solana blockchain has the cheapest transaction fee, so i t won’t hurt do what i just told you when ending a transaction in Solana blockchain.

I wouldn’t recommend copying and pasting as there are viruses that notice when a wallet address is copied and change just a character or two in the middle to the pasted address.
