Why are the staking rates so different on trust wallet than on phantom or what’s posted on Solana Compass? The highest staking yield is 5.7% on trust wallet yet over 7% on phantom for the same validators. For instance autostake validator is showing up as 5.69% in trust wallet yet showing up as 7.3% on phantom and 7.7% on the compass site. Any ideas why?
They use APR rather than APY. Their APR calculation just looks at emission rate of sol due to inflation and also looks at the commission validators take but doesnt factor in the amount of supply staked or the performance of validators, both of which affect APY. When less of supply is staked, more emissions go to stakers, increasing APY. When a validator performs better APY is also higher.
Ah ok so the yield will be the same but the calculation is different.
Hello. Can you or anyone else confirm this is true?
I have the same question as you. When I Googled “Why is Trust Wallet staking APR lower reddit”, this Reddit thread if the first link that comes up.
On the staking websites, it’s showing around 7% for Solana. But Trust Wallet shows most in the 5% range.
Is it really just a different calculation? Or am I getting less by using Trust Wallet? I tried Googling more but I can’t find a clear answer. I want to make sure Trust is a good option for this or if I should move all my coins somewhere else…
