Hi, I’ve been shopping around for appchain type solutions for my startup. Curious what its like to launch an L2 appchain, the capital requirements, dev resources, experience etc.

I think it is best to weigh all of the options and look out for the one you fancy best. ZkEVM, OP stack and the Application Specific Rollups by Cartesi are some you should put into consideration.

Let us know which you decide to go with eventually!

It’s really hard to beat Base as an L2 right now. It has growing activity with direct on/off ramp from Coinbase, and everyone expects a token drop at some time.

There’s a few different options out there:

    - OP Stack by Optimism

    - Arbitrum Nitro

    - ZK Stack by zkSync

    - Polygon CDK

I released a guide to launching an L2 appchain with Polygon CDK a few weeks ago if you’re interested in that: https://youtu.be/rKci4nyPC4w

TBH, you are probably best to compare the different options based on what requirements you have and make your own decision; as I think you’ll get a fair bit of bias in here

I’m curious if Verus might suit you now depending on your use case but I’d love to hear why or why not. They are now non-custodially interoperable with ETH and use zk-snarks.
